Carol is originally from Florida. She began her dance training in Miami and moved to Lynchburg, VA to study on a scholarship at the Academy of Fine Arts (formerly known as, The Lynchburg Fine Arts Center. Carol continued her studies in Virginia, with Dance Theatre of Lynchburg, under the artistic direction of Keith Lee. She presented her early work in Virginia at numerous dance spaces and was able to showcase her chorography and acting skills at Dance Theatre of Lynchburg’s, “Leaps and Bounds, 2010 show. Carol “Chosen” Rushing passion for acting and dance has landed her various roles in many different productions.
Rhea M. Reed is a young, enthusiastic, woman of God with a made-up mind and a spirit to serve God’s Kingdom. A native of Winston Salem, NC. Rhea Attended R.J Reynolds High School where she participated in both Theater Arts as well as the Music program. As the transition from high schooler to collegiate took place, Rhea went on to attend the most prestigious North Carolina Central University, In Durham, NC, where she studied Business/Marketing and continued to sing in act. Ms. Reed is now back in her hometown of Winston Salem and is a thriving mother of two, business owner (Pretty N Pentecostal) and recording singer (Christopher Ervin & Abraham’s Descendants). With her sighs set only on God and greatness, Rhea is truly living by her motto, “you CAN have the life of your dreams! Just keep living for God and never stop dreaming!”
Lamonte D. Bethea, born and raised in Winston Salem, NC started singing at age 5 and playing the keyboard at ager 8. He truly loves God and always enjoys spreading the good news. He is married with one child. His only goal is to see God’s power move on the lives of the saints and see changes comes
Kiera Whicker attends Winston Salem State University, majoring in Elementary Education. The production marks her 12th performance season in Black Natively. Kiera has performed and trained with NCNRC’s Teen Theatre Ensemble and has been a cast member in Choices. Valued Voicers, and The Glory of Gospel. Kiera is faithful member of St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church. She is the lovely daughter of Christine and Frederick Whitaker, the granddaughter of Elizabeth Gray-Patten; and the mother of Keyon Ezekiel Mosley-Whitaker.
Shantilla Davis is a Winston Salem, NC native. She attends her grandfather’s church (Bishop F.D. Patterson Sr.) , Ambassadors Cathedral where Apostle Edwin Allen is the Senior Pastor of her home church. Shantilla’s training and vocal coaching has always been under the leadership of David L. Allen Sr. Shantilla has two boys (Alexander Davis and Anthony Quinn). She’s the oldest of 8 children. She’s been singing since the womb.
Ja’Nye Ross is a young aspiring actor. He currently attends Forsyth Technical College in Winston Salem, NC., as an acting student with the hope of transferring to a four-year university. “Hurting Women Do Cry” is his first gospel performance. Ja’Nye states this is his first and not his last.
Alvina Porter is a native of Buffalo, New York, which she has lived in Winston Salem, NC for the past 14 years. She caught the acting bug while performing in various speaking contests, high school and church musicals and play productions.
Alvina is a military veteran where she served as an active duty Sergeant in the United States Army for 8 years. She was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, Bamberg Germany and at Schofield Barracks Hawaii. While stationed in Germany, Alvina’s unit was deployed over to Bosnia-Herzegovina as part of the NATO peacekeeping mission Operation Joint Endeavor under the Clinton Administrations.
Alvina continued her military service as a member of the United States Army National Guard Reserves in New York. During this time of service, she actively participated in major initiative combat terrorisms as the country was attack on September 11th. Alvina has received the following awards and metals for her military service: Armed Forces Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Medal, Superior Unit Award, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, (2) Army Commendation Medals, Army Service Ribbon, (2) Army Good Conduct Medals and (2) Army Achievement Medals. Monica is a native of Raeford, NC. She currently lives in Winston Salem with her husband. She is a mother of 4 children and a grandmother for 2. An Army veteran who currently works and a middle school teacher in High Point. She has appeared in several movies to include: Search for Grace, Eddie, and Once Upon a Time When We Were Colored. Her hobbies include computers, reading, music, and anything crafty.
Darica Allyse Waller was born on August 12, 1989. She was born in Durham, NC. She has two younger siblings named Kelsey and Drew Waller. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at age 9 and was baptized at Mt. Level Missionary Baptist Church in Durham, NC at the age of 14, while attending First Calvary Baptist Church in Durham, NC; she heard the Lord’s call to preach.
In 2007, she received her diploma from the Durham County Public School System. She then entered college at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU). This is where her life began to take a major shift. As a student of WSSU, she joined the Theta Mu Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, an International English Honor Society. In December 2011, Darica received her degree in English Education. And in December 2011, Darica received her degree in English Education. In December 2017, she completed her Master’s Degree in School Counseling. With her English degree, Darica has taught and impacted the lives of her student for over 5 years in the Winston-Salem/triad area. Shortly after Darica’s graduation, God called her mother home (December 31, 2012). This was one of the hardest things she ever had to endure. Nevertheless, her trust was in God. It was after the death of her mother, Darica felt impelled to go to grad school and complete the degree that her mother started but was unable to finish. While completing her graduate degree, she was ordained an Elder in the Lord’s church.In 2008, she became a faithful member of Greater Higher Ground Ministries, Worldwide Inc. and received the Holy Spirit. There she met her Spiritual Leaders and God-parents Apostle John H. Heath (deceased) and Bishop-Designate Janice O. Heath, where she still serves today in 2010, Darica accepted her call into Ministry under her Spiritual Leaders.Currently Elder Waller serves under the tutelage of her leaders Bishop Designate, Janice O. Heath and Assistant Pastor, Bethany Heath. In her ministry she is a Youth Advisor, Armor Bearer to the Pastor, Praise and Worship Leader, Choir Director, and serves in many other faithful capacities. Darica’s sole purpose is to love people and to teach them about Christ whether it be through her singing, preaching, teaching, or just living her daily life.
Elder Kristyn Daney was born to Mr. Sam and Mrs. Evelyn Lessington in New York City. He has performed and traveled with the Boys of Harlem. His amazing singing voice has been heard across the world. He has toured in Japan, Europe and Jerusalem just to name a few. Productions 2nd and r3d Annual Playwrights Gala 2013 – 2014. He has been performing for audiences for the last 10 years. Amongst his favorite roles: Booker T. Washington in the musical “Ragtime”, Tre” in “Even a wretch like me”, Jason in “We are Family”, Grandfather in “Where’s Heaven when all Hell Breaks loose”, and Robert in “It won’t happen Again”. He has been apart of the NCBRC for six years. He has performed in “Crowns”, “The Gospel According to Broadway”, “The Great White Way”, “The Glory of Gospel” and “Black Nativity”. Since then he has been in numerous state productions, both local and national, has ministered on many platforms and is still allowing God to use his voice as an instrument of praise. In his personal life, he is a graduate of Winston Salem State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics. He also has obtained his Master’s Degree in Information Technology from Winston Salem State University in 2012. He finished his second Master of Arts in Teaching in Middle Grades Mathematics in May of 2014. He is currently enrolled in the doctoral program at Cappella University studying Educational Management and Leadership. He is a faithful member of Great Tabernacle Worship Center where he serves under his pastor Apostle B.J. McCloud. He is an ordained Elder who loves God with his whole heart. He cherishes family, teaching and helping our younger generation better themselves for the future, Elder Daney is a firm believer that if you “Trust in the Lord with ALL thine heart and lean not to thine OWN understandings; in ALL they ways acknowledge God and HE WILL direct they PATHS”. Proverbs 3:5-6.
